Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Energy Technician for our client in Houston, Texas. As a Solar Energy Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar energy systems. Your expertise will contribute to the expansion of clean energy and the reduction of carbon emissions in the region.


  1. Install and commission solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, wiring, and mounting structures, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
  2. Conduct on-site assessments to determine the feasibility of solar installations, considering factors such as site conditions, shading analysis, and electrical requirements.
  3. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure proper system design, equipment selection, and compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  4. Perform electrical wiring and interconnection work, including AC/DC connections, grounding, and conduit installation.
  5. Conduct performance testing and commissioning of solar systems, ensuring optimal functionality, efficiency, and output.
  6. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with solar energy systems, including faulty components, wiring problems, or system malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
  7. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and cleaning of solar panels and equipment to maximize system performance and longevity.
  8. Coordinate with customers, project teams, and subcontractors to schedule installations, resolve technical issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  9. Keep accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repairs, including documentation of system specifications, work performed, and any necessary follow-up actions.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to solar energy systems.


  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or formal training in solar energy installation is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar energy system installation and maintenance.
  3. Strong knowledge of solar energy principles, PV system components, electrical wiring, and safety protocols.
  4. Proficiency in interpreting electrical and architectural drawings, system schematics, and technical specifications.
  5. Familiarity with local building codes, electrical regulations, and permitting processes related to solar installations in Houston, Texas.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  7. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites within the Houston area as needed.
  10. Commitment to workplace safety, including knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
