JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability Certified Building Solutions Engineerto join a dynamic team in Memphis, TN!. As a Sustainable Building Solutions Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing sustainable solutions for the construction industry. Your expertise in engineering principles, renewable energy systems, green building materials, and energy-efficient technologies will contribute to our mission of creating environmentally responsible and energy-efficient buildings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design and develop sustainable building solutions: Utilize your engineering knowledge and expertise to design innovative and sustainable solutions for the construction industry. This includes analyzing and evaluating building systems, materials, and technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.

2. Conduct feasibility studies: Assess the viability and feasibility of implementing sustainable building solutions in various projects. Analyze data, perform cost-benefit analyses, and present recommendations to stakeholders to support decision-making processes.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with architects, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices and technologies into building projects. Collaborate on the design and implementation of energy-efficient systems, renewable energy solutions, and environmentally friendly materials.

4. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations: Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the sustainable building industry. Stay informed about advancements in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building certifications, and sustainable construction practices.

5. Perform energy audits and assessments: Conduct energy audits and assessments of existing buildings to identify opportunities for energy savings and sustainability improvements. Analyze energy consumption patterns, recommend energy-efficient measures, and develop retrofit plans to enhance building performance.

6. Develop and evaluate green building strategies: Assist in the development and evaluation of sustainable design strategies, including passive solar design, natural ventilation, daylighting, and rainwater harvesting. Apply knowledge of green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, etc.) to guide project teams towards achieving sustainability goals.

7. Provide technical expertise and support: Serve as a subject matter expert on sustainable building solutions. Offer guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and clients regarding sustainable design principles, construction practices, and renewable energy systems.

8. Contribute to project documentation and reporting: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and other project documentation related to sustainable building solutions. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 3 - 5years experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Proven experience in sustainable building design, energy-efficient systems, or related fields.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and building codes.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems, green building materials, and sustainable construction techniques.
• Knowledge of energy modeling software and tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, IESVE, OpenStudio).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and green building certifications.
• Professional certifications (e.g., LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor) are highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
